highlights Candy Lane and fun facts about Hershey and
Koziar's Christmas Village in Bernville, Berks County. The
Christmas Tree Capital of the world located in Indiana
County and the National Toy Train Museum in Lancaster County
are also featured. Finally, a tour is given of ACCU Weather
in State College to learn how Santa’s trip is tracked for
Pennsylvania's youth on Christmas Eve.

In recent months, the United States Supreme Court ruled that
the City of New London, Connecticut was allowed to seize
homes in an unblighted, working class neighborhood to build
a hotel and office complex. This program features a
discussion on the need for protecting the rights of
homeowners in Pennsylvania from government takeover for
economic development purposes. During the show, interviews
are conducted with Dana Berliner from the Institute for
Justice and Matthew Brouillette from the Commonwealth
Foundation. The cable show also includes footage from
Piccola’s recent press conference in which he shared the
support received for enacting “The Property Rights
Protection Act,” his legislation that would restore the
traditional balance in eminent domain cases.

In this month's show, Piccola visits the Susquehanna
Township High School to take a close look at their safe
schools program and the partnership between the school and
the local police department. The cable show also includes
footage from Piccola’s recent press conference in which he
unveiled legislation that is modeled after the success at
Susquehanna and would reform Pennsylvania’s Safe Schools
Law. Also featured during the program are interviews with
the local police department and school administrators,
faculty, and students.

Pennsylvania," as it explores who lives in the Commonwealth
and why. Census figures and other facts are examined in
detail for population trends, ages and races, employment,
and education. People across the state discuss why they have
made Pennsylvania their home. The program also highlights
the state's senior population and includes a special report
on retaining the younger generation, otherwise known as the
"Brain Drain."

The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine are
important to Central Pennsylvania as a provider of patient care, a research
enterprise, and educational facility that is producing the next generation of
caregivers. This month’s program features an overview of the medical center and
college to learn more about the many efforts underway. Specifically, Piccola's
show provides a tour of the Cancer Research Institute, Children’s Hospital, and
Simulation Development and Cognitive Science Laboratory, which is specifically
designed for training medical professionals and students. Interviews are also
included with Darrell Kirch, M.D., Senior Vice President, Dean, and CEO of the
medical center and college, as well as various other medical staff.

This month's show features a closer look at the
Commonwealth’s lawsuit abuse crisis and its impact on the
state’s jobs' climate. Joining Piccola to discuss lawsuits
as a "hidden tax" on employers and consumers is
Representative Mike Turzai from Allegheny County and Jim
Welty, Vice President of Legislative and Corporate Affairs
for the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. The
interviews also include discussions regarding other issues
facing Pennsylvania manufacturers and the job creation
initiatives underway by the Legislature – such as the
Keystone Manufacturing Initiative.

in Harrisburg – one of the oldest remaining industrial
plants in South Central Pennsylvania. For over 158 years,
Hickok Manufacturing has worked to maintain the tradition of
providing quality machines and machinery parts. The program
also includes interviews with the president and employees of
the plant on the impact of lawsuit abuse on their day-to-day
operations.

June 2005 - Recognizing the need to find ways to
improve PA's job climate, Senate Majority Whip Jeff
Piccola joined by large and small employers from across
the state, is calling for support to enact a "Single Sales
Factor" proposal this year. Piccola's bill, Senate Bill
380, would change PA's Corporate Net Income Tax (CNI) to a
single sales factor.
