  • Motorists Beware -- Deer are on the Move
    Pennsylvania motorists are being urged by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) this spring to stay alert, watch for deer crossing signs, and slow down during early morning and evening hours to avoid a collision with hungry white-tailed deer anxious to graze.   (06/16/09)

  • Enjoy Fishing on Pennsylvania’s Many Waterways
    The PA Fish & Boat Commission is encouraging Pennsylvanians and visitors to the state interested in fishing to take advantage of its “Fishing Fundamentals” webpage. Pick up on the basics; choose from a list of fishing opportunities along a lazy stream or a lively lake-side setting; or click on the tab for the Calendar of Fishing & Boating Events for your next fun fishing adventure. The PF&BC addresses all your fishing-related questions on its webpage “Frequently Asked Questions”.   (06/16/09)

  • PA Fish and Boat Commission Warns of Spread of Harmful Algae
    Picture your favorite fishing and boating area covered with an eight inch thick mat extending for miles. The massive algae bloom, officially known as Didymosphenia geminata, or “didymo”, is prompting the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission (PF&BC) to enlist the help of sportsmen and boaters to prevent further spreading.   (04/22/09)

  • 2009 Trout Stocking Schedule Now Available
    The 2009 Pennsylvania Trout Stocking Schedule is now available on the PA Fish & Boat Commission’s (PF&BC) website. The Commission reports it will stock more than 3.1 million brook, brown, and rainbow trout between March 1, 2009 and February 28, 2010. The stocking will occur in 744 streams and 124 lakes.   (03/06/09)
